Email aliases
Give sites a random framealias.com address that forwards to you, and turn it off or delete it when the mail stops being welcome.
What an alias is
An alias is a random address on framealias.com that forwards mail to your real inbox. Use a different one for each site, so you can tell who shared your address and cut it off without changing your email.
Make an alias
- Open Email aliases and choose Make alias.
- Add a Label (optional), like the site’s name, to remember where you used it.
- Choose Copy and paste the address into the site’s sign-up form.
The browser extension can also make an alias for you as you sign up. One account can hold up to 100 aliases.
What forwarded mail looks like
Mail arrives in your inbox with “(via Frame)” after the sender’s name. Each alias shows where it was Used on, when it was last seen and how many messages it forwarded.
Turn it off or delete it
- Turn off: mail to that address is dropped quietly until you turn it back on. The sender isn’t told.
- Delete alias: mail to that address bounces from then on. A deleted address is never given to anyone else.
- Rename alias: changes only the label, never the address.
